It makes the world go 'round, I suppose

Why can't I have more of it? At least enough to live comfortably...The strangest thing is that it's like walking uphill: It's hard to get up, but impossibly easy to spiral your way down. For example, I've earned enough money for a down payment on a room So, I can set up home base and look for work while I go to school. But, I've already lost $40 dollars because of an error with the bank. It irritates me that my hard earned money can just fall through a hole in cyberspace. Perhaps its because of the date: I "withdrew" $40 dollars on Friday the 13th. And now I can't even heal this financial wound because it's been found that I am no longer necessary at work. "Laid off' is the term. Oh, well. At least now I can finally enjoy my summer without having to go to work everyday. It was necessary while it lasted but, now, I guess I can just take things as they come. I made money. I'll live life.

I left my heart....well....you know where

So, the city was amazing. It's so scary/intimidating/awesome that I'm going to live there in about a month. I'm hoping that everything works out. The events that took place made this weekend one of the best ones that I've ever had. Although, lately my weekends have been stellar. So, this one was following the pleasurable trend of AWESOME weekends. I went to Chinatown and drank Boba for the first time, which was interesting...And then came the night life: La Cenerentola, the opera that I went to see, was of the best caliber of performance that I have ever seen. Matthew Moore, who played Alidoro, has a magnificent voice on top of being a friendly person. We had dinner with him at Le Central. Which was interesting because it was Bastille day on Saturday. hee hee. I particularly enjoyed the fact that despite the inital plan of going for two days and one night, I ended up staying an additional day and night and hanging out with my boss' son (a very cool guy) for a little while longer. My whole experience was essentially soaking in all of the SF energy and practicing my "city-skills" which I believe could stand to be honed...but, I digress. Learning about, existing in, and simply exeriencing San Francisco was pretty much one of the best experiences I've ever had.

It should be called The Order of The AWESOME

Yes.
I have voted yes on this
<----
Good times. The acting was amazingly awesome. My favorites were Luna Lovegood and Bellatrix Lestrange. Although, Dolores Umbridge was satisfyingly disgusting. The score was better than average, although when anyone is given something written by John Williams, they have to try REALLY hard to mess it up. The effects were amazing. The fight between Albus (Percival Wulfric Brian) Dumbledore and Voldermort (Tom Marvolo Riddle) was pretty much one of the most hardcore orgasmically delicious fights I've ever seen. Definitely up there.
Incidentally, the fight scenes combined with the acting combined with the score and the effects.....Amazing.
Although they left out a lot of things in the book, who can expect them to have a ten hour movie? Despite how much I would enjoy it. I think they did a good enough job staying relatively true to the movie. One thing that bothers me more than anything: costumes. When I'm watching a movie about wizardry, I'm not all that concerned with fashionable english clothing...I'd like to see some robes. Yes, they're not all that flattering but, dammit the people in the movie are attractive enough. The hairstyles are rather trendy as well which will only further serve to date the movie even more. But, that's okay because it was still freaking amazing yes.
Luna Lovegood
Thestrals
Dolores Jane Umbridge
Grawp
Seamus Finnigan
Patronus
Yes.
Seriously,
GO see it.

Estoy Orgulloso de ser Homosexual

Well, not really proud. But, glad I suppose. I had a really good time at the San Luis Obispo Gay Pride in the Plaza. My wonderful GSA Advisor took me to SLO to witness the festivities. We ended up hanging out at the beginning and end of everything. I also went with her and some other way awesome NHS Alumni to the school nurse's house for chocolate mousse (sp?). It sounds like a stretch but, really it was fun. Between the arrival and the mousse, I spent most of the time flitting around to hang out with my mom and little brother (who were there having a gay old time) and my other favorite people. Random kids from youth group, the aforementioned Alumni, just lots of people whom I wish to be kept around. I vote yes on all of them. In this picture, you can see me doing one of the many enjoyable activities to be undertaken at a gay pride gathering: hooping! That's right, my friends, wonderful rainbows fabulously swirling around me. Can you imagine? haha. It looks very much like I am having a lot of fun. Which is an interesting coincidence because, of course, I WAS. I plan on keeping this fun thing continuously going.

Leftist Lunch, Populist Potluck, Freedom Frolic, Anti-Bush Bash, Non-Republican Num-nums

The Progressive club/gsa meeting was quite diverting. I vote yes on it. Seeing all of the Alumni was especially so. Ian and David remind me that we are all going away. Which is sad, but very, very happy. Also, discussing with Ian, Ryan, and Rachel (as you can see in this picture) the finer points of nerdy books that we all have read. It was oh so much fun. Kind of like the social aspect of school...but, without the whole school part. Very much fun. And the food was great. We ate beans and rice (courtesy of my grandmother), assorted goods from trader joes, cherries, mango lemonade, pasta salad, and a delicious garbanzo bean, swiss cheese, and pineapple casserole provided by my wonderful GSA advisor. Everything was rather delicious. After eating, Rachel, Ryan and I watched the rest of them play frisbee while my mother and GSA advisor discussed interesting topics...i assume. Then, we all sat down and talked about Progressive issues, political movements, our favorite movies, etc. Some people left, including mom, which was sad but, the party kept going strong. I spoke with Ryan for about an hour, just talking. It was nice. We had to keep moving further away from the trees of our picnic site because their shadows would get longer and longer which put us in the shade. The only thing that kept it from being an absolutely perfect outing was the cold. It's summer: what's the deal here? But, as it stands, it was definitely a pleasant saturday to remember.

Socializing.

I seem to be doing that quite a bit as of late. It's rather nice, despite the fact that it makes me very tired for work the next day. Sunday was an old friend's 21st birthday party. Incidentally, I didn't get to see him as much as I thought I would have because he had been passed out for several hours by the time I got there. Haha. So, I fraternized with a few people that I hadn't expected to be there but, was nonetheless pleased to see. Parties where only a few people are drinking are rather entertaining, I believe. I've only been to a couple yet, being the sober one while others are making asses of themselves is mostly amusing, I suppose. Oh, and today I went to work for 7.5 hours which was not fun, but then one of my friends decided to invite me over to a version "Pirates of Penzance", which was cool because everyone watching was part of it, or at least could appreciate all of the jokes being made.
I don't have to work on Wednesday, and this weekend shall be utterly amazing. In addition to SLO Gay pride and The Leftist lunch, I know have been offered comp tickets to a PCPA musical which will obviously be a spectacle to behold. If only I didn't have to wait until then...

Phones, Labor and a Party

That esssentially sums it up. I went to go get a phone at the verizon store. Had to go to work for 4 hours (wtf?) and then went to my friend's house to hang out for a little while before going to another friend's girlfriend's suprise birthday party. It was pretty good actually. I was very hungry during the set up but, as soon as she got there we cracked open this amazing spread from trader joes. Cool crackers, delectable dips, sweet spreads, cheerful chips (?), hellishly good hummus, spanking good spices, and a HUGE Zucchini. Plus, the cake was awesome. Even though I had already eaten about 9 lbs of food. Hanging out with my friends for the first time in a while was fairly amazing as well. Summer would be great if only I didn't have to work....but, It's looking like i'll be working for the next few years or so....
As it is, the summer isn't SO terrible. haha. I think I might be able to stand it.
