for essentially nothing. I am quite bitter. But, what can I do? I was outclassed...
Everyone auditioning for the conservatory has been taking lessons, and playing longer than I have. I really wish that I knew what I wanted to do when I started playing the trumpet. Plus, I didn't get a chance to talk to the trumpet professor, Mario Guarnerni. He played the solo cornet in "The Godfather III" so, it's understandable why I'd want to talk to him. The man is basically a trumpet god, and I insulted him. But, it wasn't my fault; I had to go call my family after the audition. I think that he thought I left after he told me to wait fifteen minutes in the cafe. But, I came back. And waited. and waited. For about 45 minutes I waited while sinking into a worsening feeling of inferiority. Especially considering I wasn't even able to contact my mom. So, basically I left for no reason and missed out on a really cool opportunity....
I know I didn't get in.

G!
You did it...got us all the way to SF even when we had the wrong destination mapquested.
We went there, we did it.
We found it even though it was in some back alley one way bullshit.
And you auditioned for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music!
Regardless of the outcome, you put yourself out there and accomplished a venture, son.
That's what you gotta keep doin, and that is what you did.
Against a lot of odds ( i know cuz i am one of 'em!)
And also too, if you remember we had a fine thrift store highlight.
So while you may not have formal trumpet learnin' you got gumption.
Which you cannot get for $40 an hour.
Keep your head up.
