Financial prudence

is the best kind. I am a staunch opponent to all other forms of it. But, in this aspect, reservation can be useful. Case in point: I've started a checking/debit account with which to store my money. I believe this will curb wasteful spending and give me a concrete number as to where I stand in the world. I have joined the system. But, in order to survive the forest, you have to grow fur, as it were. Or feathers....at least. I'm trying to make some sort of point here. Maybe I'm cold. Oh, speaking of points that can be illustrated with obscure references, I read a story about this guy who wanted to curb his soda drinking habits. So, he put all of his soda in his seldom used basement fridge. Thus, when thirst struck him, he would find himself too lazy to traipse all the way to the basement and drink the much more convenient (and much healthier) water in his kitchen fridge. I believe this same principle applies to me: I'm not going to waste my money on frivolous things if I must traipse all the way to my "basement fridge" of a bank account to withdraw money. At least it makes sense to me. I've been attempting to explain this to the rest of my family who, to put it politely, hasn't made the best financial choices. But, sadly it falls upon deaf ears. Or at least that maintain qualities of deafness. Perhaps hard of hearing ears. But, I digress. Money is an evil that I have contained. And will attempt to further this confinement by putting as much of the evil in the basement fridge as possible.
