Loser

I hate feeling dumb. I hate it. I hate it so much. I hate feeling inadequate. I hate feeling unintelligent. Story of my life right now. I'm trying my best not to do things that make me feel like I'm not good enough because I am. Dammit.
So tonight was the Harvest Concert that actually went really, really well. I played trumpet for Women's Chorus, Sang with the Chamber Singers and debuted with Vocal Point, a small ensemble that I started. It was a really good concert. And then I get to my door and realize that I've lost my wallet. Great. With my keys, cards, checks and the key to the Associate Dean's house (because I'm house sitting for him). Awesome.
And I was trying to explain how all of this translates into my life and all the general "darkness" as it were to my friend online. And he says he doesn't want to respond and signs off, making me feel as though my feelings aren't valid and that I'm crazy. Which isn't an unfamiliar feeling but it's also not one that I enjoy having. I don't like it. I don't like feeling like a loser. or alone. or that I can't be a legitimate person for a given stretch of time.

I'm sorry tou're having a bad time, and I'm sorry your friend was such a jerk. But don't take it to heart: sometimes friends will let you down simply because they don't feel they have the capacity to be what you need. (Usually they're right.) Other friends can fill in that gap. From my view halfway across the country, it appears you have lots of people who care about you. Surely one of them is mature enough just to hold your hand for a while.
